Cleveland Steel Container Selects Kilgore, Texas

As Site For New Manufacturing Facility 

Cleveland Steel Container Corporation today announced that it has chosen Kilgore, Texas as the site for its newest manufacturing facility.  To be constructed within Kilgore’s Synergy Park, the 70,000 square foot plant will manufacture steel pails for producers of various industrial and commercial products throughout the region including paint and coatings, petroleum and chemicals, adhesives and roofing products.  The plant will eventually employ approximately 35-40 workers and produce nearly 7 million steel pails per year.  The company is hoping to start production toward the end of this year. 

“Our company founder and CEO Chris Page, along with the rest of our site selection team, decided upon Kilgore for two major reasons,” said company president John Herrick.  “First, it is very well located within one of the major market areas for our products, namely Texas and the Gulf Coast region.  Second, and more importantly, we chose Kilgore because we have a very positive impression of the town and its people.  From our very first visit, we have been made to feel at home.  We plan to be here a long time, so feeling at home and being part of a vibrant, close and friendly community means a lot to us.”  Herrick credited the work of the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation, its many dedicated volunteers and city leaders as playing a key role in their decision-making process.
