Our Lead Times Have Changed

May 23, 2024 | By Jeff Swan | Topics: Lead Times, Litho Pails, Plain Pails

I am pleased to inform you that we have successfully moved production volumes across our 4 pail plants. This strategic move has helped mitigate lead times, despite our ongoing surge in litho pail demand.

Our increased demand, particularly for *lithographed steel pails, stems from an unexpected rise in unforecasted lithography orders, rather than supply chain disruptions or raw material shortages.

The CSC Operations Team is working diligently to manage this demand efficiently, with all our plants working over time and extra days right now.

*Lithographed steel pails, especially those with 4+ color processes, require significantly more man-hours to produce
to produce than a standard painted steel pail.

Updated Lead Times:

While we have moved production around to mitigate our lead times, our lead times are now extended compared to April. Our current lead times are 5-10 weeks.

Reasons for Lead Time Extension:

  1. Increased Lithography Demand: Managing the increased demand for lithographed pails has necessitated additional production days and man hours at all 4 of our plants.
  2. Volume Redistribution: The moving of production volumes between our pail plants has been crucial in mitigating our lead times.

We deeply value your patience and understanding as we navigate through this unforecasted surge in litho orders. Your support is crucial to our success, and we remain dedicated to fulfilling your orders promptly and on time.

If you have any questions or need further clarification on your specific orders, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are committed to providing you with the best possible service.

Kindly,

Dan Roether
Vice President of Sales
